Summer Days!

Well we are half way through summer and I would have to say our summer has gone a little differently then summers in the past.  I have been teaching swim lessons for the past five weeks and I am now just two days from finishing them up for the summer.  It has been so much fun to teach a lot of the neighborhood kids how to swim or improve their swimming.  I have loved getting to know the kids better and have them come up to me whenever they see me and call me teacher.  Kids are so great!  I do have to say though that I'm ready to be done.  I teach about three hours a day, five days a week and it is amazing how just that little bit of time can really break up your day and make it a little more hectic.  In between all the swimming I also had two weeks of kids being really sick and that was crazy because it lasted so long.  McKenna and Isaac have been wonderful because they have been my babysitters through all this.  What a sacrifice they have made for me and our family.  I pay them, but if things came up to go with friends they had to decline or just wait until I was home.  I don't know of very many kids at age 11 and 10 that would give up a lot of their summer for their parents and siblings.   I love them and appreciate them so much.
The kids have also been involved in their respective sports.  Isaac has been involved with baseball and also doing baseball and basketball camps.  McKenna is back into soccer and loving it, but it takes a lot of practice and she has a great team where she is meeting other girls and enjoying herself.  Her team is really good as well.
Micah and Elias just have fun playing with friends in the neighborhood along with Mckenna and Isaac.  Our summer days are like those I remember growing up.  Doing some activities, but having chores, helping out around the house, and playing with friends.  The second half of our summer have some great plans of going to AZ, San Diego, and playing with cousins.  I can't wait!
